The story of two families and two dreamers joined by a shared passion for taste excellence and the unique dynamism of the US market: FREEZEAT was officially founded in 2018 by Corrado Giovanardi and Jakob Zuegg.
Born out of their mutual love for culinary excellence and the United States,

OF TWO FAMILIES
The journeys of the Zuegg and Giovanardi families began poles apart but, today, their paths are intertwined giving life to everything FREEZEAT stands for: passion, dedication, and innovation bringing Italian food excellence to the world.
The Zuegg family history started among the apple orchards in Lana, South Tyrol, while the Giovanardi family found its roots in artisanal food production in Maranello.
Back in 1860, Ernst August and Maria Zuech began selling apples and created the surname Zuegg. After World War I, their sons Karl and Vigil expanded the business throughout Northern Italy. Today, Lukas and Jakob Zuegg represent the fifth generation leading the company.
Meanwhile, in 1979, Angelo Giovanardi, a master artisan in gelato production for the food service industry, founded Casa del Gelato. In 1995, his sons Corrado and Andrea followed in his footsteps with the same passion and drive. By 2011, the business moved into a new facility, and became a reliable partner in the Private Label world.
